Most of us have arose in the middle of the night, inadvertently stepped on or tripped over something left out of place, expressed our opinion verbally, searched for the light switch, and then were quite relieved to have light.
Light always brings revelation…
Light always dispels darkness...
And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you? They said to Him, “Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.” Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him (Matthew 20:32-34, NASB).
When our eyes are opened we follow JESUS. When our eyes our closed we follow anything and anyone else. If we want our eyes opened, all that we need to do is ask. There are those who decide to keep their eyes closed and move foolishly in the darkness. The challenge is that moving in the darkness generally produces a life with confusion, many bumps and bruises from falling down, a great amount of uncertainty and a life lacking true perception. Or we have the choice to have our eyes opened by the compassion of JESUS, and move in HIS light and grace. The antithesis to living in the darkness is of course choosing a life filled with luminous energy, visual clarity, clear purpose and movement.
Regardless of our dilemma being an emotional need, physical trauma, mental stress, social wreck or spiritual nightmare...JESUS IS ALWAYS THE TRUE LIGHT CHOICE!
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life” (John 8:12, NASB).
