Beginning Prophetic Glory Ring Workshop ~ Oregon, USA
October 20, 2000, Friday ~ Arising early, I left Corvallis, Oregon heading to Redmond, Oregon to pick up Miss Versie, one of HGRM's Advisors. She has been a faithful prayer warrior, a dear friend and had attended most of my Workshops in Central Oregon before I moved to the Portland Metro area a few months ago. She asked to ride along for the journey, so I agreed. Her family lived near LaGrande, and she wanted me to meet them and for us to stay with them. Her hope was that they would be receptive to my offerings of prayer and ministry.
We left Redmond before noon, driving through Prineville, the Ochoco National forest and Mitchell. We stopped in John Day to pour out Holy Anointing Oil in the John Day River and eat a picnic lunch in a local park. Then we finished our journey through Baker City and on to LaGrande. The weather was delightfully agreeable and there were not any road construction delays...which added to the ease of the journey. Miss Versie is a vibrant, red-headed evangelist that loves to preach the Gospel anywhere, anytime to anyone which was the single sound of our conversation.
October 21, 2000, Saturday ~ A Company of Women hosted the Beginning Prophetic Glory Ring Workshop where 21 attended in LaGrande, Oregon. It was a delightful occasion with much joy and delight. Lynda Peterson's daughter, Stephenie provided live worship which was a rare gift and truly changed the atmosphere into sacred worship. Stephenie's CD Inside is life changing. It was similar to when Pastor Anthony Turner provided live worship last year. As I realize the possibility of live worship is a rare gift...I am embracing it fully.
Gratefully the new Beginning Glory Ring Workshop invitation was finished and I was more at peace about the schedule. After holding between 20-30 Beginning Worship Glory Ring Workshops it was good to see things come into balance and order ensuring the optimum experience for those attending. It is with the realization that some who attend truly wish to enter into the Presence of God and worship HIM in Spirit and Truth and others attend for a social event or an artistic craft activity. Each person brings something to the atmosphere...some assimilate easier than others.
My Dad's memorial service was the weekend before which was the original date of the Workshop, so Lynda graciously rearranged her schedule to host the Workshop a week later. She offered to post pone it to a much later date, but with the loss of my gainful employment, needing to move in a week, it seemed important to keep the commitment as close to the original date as possible. To simply move forward with the call of God on my life.
October 22, 2000, Sunday ~ We departed early in the morning as Miss Versie wanted to see the Painted Hills of Oregon on the way home, and I had promised her this little adventure, a 3-day mini vacation to see her family. We drove through Baker City to Dayville, then headed north on Highway 19. Miss Versie assured me that she knew the way, but we somehow got very lost. This was in the era when paper maps were all that were available which were only helpful if you actually knew where you were. I am reminding myself to always bring my own compass and maps. We did finally find the Painted Hills of Oregon which are not painted in vibrant colors in the fall as they are in the spring when it rains which is what she remembered. The hot summer sun erased the vibrant colors leaving the palette with very watered down sepia. She kept saying, "You will know it when you see them, they are painted like the vibrant colors of a rainbow." Even so, we stopped, we prayed, we poured Holy Anointing Oil for the Glory of YESHUA! Then continuing along the back roads, the historic Oregon pioneers trails, through Fossil and the quaint town of Shaniko. It is a beautiful scenic drive on a two-lane highway that desperately needs repair. After taking Miss Versie to her home in Redmond, I finished the 3 hour drive to Corvallis...clearly over 1000 miles is too many in a weekend.
It became very clear to me that providing someone a mini-vacation to her high-maintenance family in conjunction with a ministry outreach truly did not function effectively because it tugged continually, pulling my focus away from what GOD sent me to do. This I have noted as I am still on a strong learning curve and I am positive this will be the last time I offer anyone a mini-vacation to see their family wrapped around a ministry outreach such as a Beginning Prophetic Glory Ring Workshop. As always dependent upon the grace and mercy of God. Grateful for the prayers of the H.G.R.M. Intercessors. Grateful to those who give in faith trusting GOD to complete HIS call upon my life.
Versie remained a dear trusted friend and faithful H.G.R.M. Intercessor until she moved to heaven September 7, 2017. I am grateful for the memories.
