The following is a sample of Biblical Scriptures on Prayer:
“For You, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have made a revelation to Your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house'; therefore, Your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to You.” ~ 2 Samuel 7:27
They buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the grave of Kish his father; thus they did all that the king commanded, and after that God was moved by prayer for the land. ~ 2 Samuel 21:14
David built there an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Thus, the LORD was moved by prayer for the land, and the plague was held back from Israel. ~ 2 Samuel 24:25
“Yet have regard to the prayer of Your servant and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which Your servant prays before You today; that Your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, toward the place of which You have said, ‘My name shall be there,' to listen to the prayer which Your servant shall pray toward this place.’” ~ 1 Kings 8:28-29
