Recently, without an inquiry from me, the Holy Spirit spoke, "Stay the course." Immediately, I looked up the definitions of the words 'stay' and 'course.' Then I did brief research on how I might apply 'stay the course' to my present life.
Course -"...a direction or route taken or to be taken; the path, route, or channel along which anything moves; advance or progression in a particular direction; forward or onward movement; the continuous passage or progress through time or a succession of stages..."
Stay -“…to spend some time in a place, in a situation, with a person or group, to continue to be as specified, as to condition or state; to hold out or endure, as in a contest or task, to keep up, as with a competitor…”
As a college athlete, 'Stay the Course', meant to finish the game, finish the race no matter what. As a single parent, 'Stay the Course', meant to never give up, always persevere. In this season of my life, 'Stay the Course' looks different.
As a servant of the LORD, 'Stay the Course' means to walk in immediate obedience daily to the Spirit of the MOST HIGH GOD. It means my life is not my own to do with as I might desire, it is not about my feelings, thoughts, plans, purposes, wants, needs, hopes, dreams, pleasures...it is singularly about YHVH, ELOHIM ~ Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
Remember to 'Stay the Course'....
“Being found in appearance as a man, HE humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death from a cross.” ~ Philippians 2:8, NASB
