A friend, Jenn Carr called and asked me if I would be willing to move from Hillsboro, Oregon to Corvallis, Oregon to develop the Human Resource department for a small computer software startup company. It was better pay, better benefits, and closer to my three children. Absolutely Yes! This was good news as my current position in gainful employment was being given to another because the owner of the company owed someone a favor which made me dispensable. Gratefully, God went before me providing for me even before I knew I needed the provision.
The last weekend in March, my children and friends helped move me to Corvallis, Oregon on 875 SE Bethel Place, off of SE Bethel Street. I had received a prophetic word about moving to Bethel, so everything was lining up according to God's plan.
12.04.1999 A prophetic word for Jennifer Joy from Bob Cole, Colorado Springs, Colorado Year of 2000. Moving from Gilgal to Bethel. A place of origin in the House of the LORD. Raising up a company of handmaidens. First Platform. Place to be sent out from that is recognized. Bringing in Spiritual Dances. New Time. New Season. New Awareness. A whole lot of shaking going on. Year of Grace.
My only daughter, Angela was expecting my first grandson in a couple of weeks, my two sons lived in Corvallis, Oregon which meant we could worship together as a family once again. One of my greatest joys is worshiping with my family.
The City of Corvallis Christian Community of 28 congregations gathered together with plans to meet at Gill Coliseum for Easter 2000, expecting 5,000 to 7,000 in attendance. For a year, they had been meeting weekly in a different church for prayer. The last city-wide prayer meeting was held my third week in Corvallis. My son, Shawn and I went to the prayer gathering together. He had been participating for a year, this was my first time. The guest minister was Tom White, whom I had never met. However, the LORD spoke clearly to me that I was to sit behind Tom White so that I could intercede for him. When we arrived, the church foyer was packed wall-to-wall people, standing room only. I said to Shawn, "I need to sit behind Tom White, there are two places on the second pew to the left." He rolled his eyes at me, but followed me to the place GOD had saved for us. Of course, there were two empty spaces in the second pew on the left. My focus was on prayer and worship. I never did meet Tom White which is sometimes how an intercessory prayer assignment functions. It is always about obedience to God. Obedience is an act of faith. Disobedience is the result of unbelief. My heart's one desire is always to walk in obedience to God.
The following weekend the above photos were in the Albany-Democrat Herald and Corvallis Gazette Times. A complete shock! The very last thing I would ever hope for in my life is to be on the front page of any newspaper, anytime, for any reason. As an introvert I am not fond of cameras, stages, or microphones. Yet, God's ways are always higher than our ways!
My first grandson was born April 29, 2000 - Elijah Thomas Parker. Absolute joy!
